Chatterbox

Sophie has become quite the chatterbox lately. She seems to have moved on from just saying nouns to actually describing situations. It's amazing to watch her make connections linguistically. For example, a couple of days ago, we were all sitting on the couch, and she said, "Sophie sit down. Mommy sit down. Daddy sit down. Everybody sit down." In my book, the jump from individuals to groups of people is a big step. She's also added the word "too" (correctly, I might add) to her vocabulary. So, she might say, "Sophie sit down. Mommy sit down too." She's also added a small repertoire of description words, such as "sad," "happy," "sleepy," and the ever important "poopy." This morning, she yawned in the car on the way to daycare, and said "Sophie sleepy." As far as I can tell it's the first time she's attributed (correctly) a description to herself without being prompted...well, except for the "poopy" description, but I kind of put that word in a different category since it's more of a physical description rather than an emotional state.

Anyways, here are some more recent pictures. Sophie has been "reading" a lot lately. She'll pick up a book and start chattering like she's reading the words. Nothing really makes sense, but she seems to know that words are supposed to come out of the book:

Sophie has a love for shoes, and recently tried to try Daddy's shoes on:

Here's the face she made when we told her to smile for the camera:

And another "smile" for the camera! She gets the idea that she's supposed to make a face, but doesn't quite get what that face is supposed to be!
