First Week of School

Well, this week was our first week back to work, and so it was also Sophie's first week at "school." She seems to like her daycare and I think is pretty stimulated there. Last night she fell asleep at 7:00 (usual bedtime is between 8:00 and 9:00). I had to wake her up at 10ish to feed her since she hadn't eaten since 4:00. She fell right back to sleep and slept until we woke her up at 7:30am!

We've been going to visit her during lunch, but it's more for our benefit than hers. The first day she was out cold--she didn't even wake up when I picked her up--and the second day she was awake and playing in a bouncy chair. Her non-reaction to us leaving her reminds me of a story that my mom told me about Kyle and I when we were little. She left us once, I think at my grandparents' house, and thought that we would be really upset when she left, but when she said bye to us, we didn't even look up from what we were playing with! She said that she was strangely upset that we didn't get upset. Now I understand the story much better--I think that Sophie's going to be just as independent, which is a good thing, but in a corner of my heart I wish that she would be a little more upset that I've left her! :-)

I'm hoping that I can post her "first day of school" picture tomorrow, but in the meantime, here's the picture I have as my computer's wallpaper at work:
