Happy Halloween!

We took Sophie to her first Halloween event last week. Centre always hosts a trick-or-treat and Halloween party, so we decided to take Sophie. She went as a ladybug!

A New Milestone--Sitting Up!

Sophie has now learned to sit up! She can only sit up by herself for a short period of time, but she's improved dramatically even since Friday. It doesn't matter, though, that she falls over a lot...she seems to think it's some sort of game! In the first couple of pictures, she seems to be a little surprised that she can do it all by herself!

Misc. Pictures

We've been so busy the last week and a half that we haven't had too much time to take pictures (and Ian definitely hasn't had time to work on new videos). Here are a couple of random pictures taken in the last couple of weeks.

We attended an International Students Association festival last week on campus, and although Sophie was sleepy, she was willing to pose with her fans! Here's a picture with one of our students from Nepal:

Tummy Play

Last weekend we made a trip to Baltimore, and Sophie started turning over from back to front regularly. (Although she doesn't like to stay on her tummy too long.) Here are some pictures of her playing on her tummy after flipping over.

Finally!

I've been trying to post these pictures for a week now, and they've finally worked! I love these pictures of Sophie in her little fall hat. Ian picked it out, and I think it suits her well!

Bathtime!

Sophie seems to like taking baths. This is a change from when she was really little--well, not really. When she was small, she liked taking baths, but hated getting out. Now she generally enjoys the whole experience (except for rinsing the shampoo out of what little hair she has). Here are some pics from when my mom and I gave her a bath in California.

We had to give her a bath in the sink and it was a little slippery. She's holding on to the edges to help her keep her balance:

Sophie Sleeps

This series of pictures was taken in California on our trip. Sophie was a hot commodity when it came to sleeping on chests. In fact, Kyle took to following me around asking if Sophie was sleepy yet!

Sophie Wan Kenobi

We recently bought some warmer clothes for Sophie, and I picked out some packaged long-sleeved onesies without realizing that they are wrap-around. When we put one on Sophie, I thought she looked like a ninja, but Ian insisted that she looked like a Jedi knight. So she has been knighted Sophie Wan Kenobi:

She has also been eating rice cereal for about a week and a half now, and although she's much better at it now, she didn't quite get what she was supposed to do with the food in the beginning. Here's a picture of her after her first "solid" food meal (sorry about the bad quality of the picture--I was taking it with her on my lap and couldn't really see what I was doing!):
