RSV Update
Well, Sophie is doing really well. She returned to daycare on Monday and is back to her old self. She's still waking up at night coughing, but that's the worst of it.
As for Ian and I, we caught it too and are having a harder time shaking it. I ended up with bronchitis. Hopefully, I'll be able to post some new pictures before Christmas, but we may have to wait until New Year's since we're leaving for California on Sunday.

Sophie's First Serious Illness
Sophie was just diagnosed with RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) last night. Almost all kids get it at some point, but it can lead to more serious illnesses such as pneumonia if we're not careful. There's a very simple and informative article here. Right now she has bronchiolitis, one of the illnesses that stem from RSV. This basically means that she has a bad cold. There aren't any medications they can give for RSV, but the doctor did give her a prescription for an inhaler to help open up her passageways. He also said that she has a pretty mild case compared to most of the kids who have it right now.
So, I'm at home with her today and tomorrow. Hopefully she'll be well enough to go back to daycare next week. When she's a little better we'll post some more pictures.

Carrots and Thanksgiving
Here are a couple of pictures that Ian pulled out of some video we had from Thanksgiving. Both, I think, are very cute.
As for carrots, Ian alluded to Sophie (not) eating them in the last post. Last night I spent an hour feeding her, trying to get her to eat the carrots! At one point, I switched to peas, hoping that it was just the carrot taste she didn't like, but the peas got the same reaction. The one thing that Sophie doesn't know is that the only person that's more stubborn than she is is her mommy! :-) Keep your fingers crossed that she starts liking her veggies soon...

Thanksgiving video #2
As promised, here's the second Thanksgiving video. Expect more photos tomorrow, and hopefully another video this weekend.
Sophie had her 6-month appointment yesterday. She's in great shape, 27 1/4" long and 17 lbs. 9 oz. Since her last visit had her at 27" long, we think maybe they mismeasured a little that time. She's still in the 95th percentile for height for her age. She got two regular immunization shots and her first flu shot. It was tough, but after a little crying she was back to her regular cheery self.
The doctor cleared Sophie for eating real food, too, so we TRIED babyfood carrots last night . . . you'll appreciate waiting for me to edit the video of that experience to see how much Sophie loves carrots right now.

Thanksgiving video #1
I've got two videos left to edit that come before this one (of Sophie's first trip to California and her trip to Baltimore), but we've been working a little in the vein of a Sophie Advent calendar lately, so I've decided to go ahead and post this first video from Thanksgiving today. Another will follow tomorrow, and then the others I mentioned above!

More Thanksgiving Pics
Well, obviously I didn't post "more pictures tomorrow"! We've been super busy, and Sophie's been such a good baby through all of our end-of-the-semester parties/meetings/shopping! We're very lucky that she goes with the flow and is so good natured!
Here are some pictures of Sophie with her Daddy, who she loves to play with!
Reading her new book from Grandpa and Grandma Wilson:
Sophie was grabbing the pacifier from Ian's mouth. She thought it was a fun game:
